The Noticer and the Feeler
One of you feels it fast. One of you thinks it slow.
How a Noticer and a Feeler carry hard things together: where you’re good, where it rubs, and what to say.
Find out which you areAbout a minute of quick taps. Then send it to them.
Where you’re good together
The Feeler brings the warmth and the Noticer brings the perspective. After a hard moment, you’re good at making sense of it together.
Where it rubs
The wave looks like an overreaction from the outside. The analysis feels cold from the inside.
What helps
Body first, then words. Ninety seconds of nothing, then the Noticer gets one question, not twelve.
A Noticer might say
“Take your minute. I’m not going anywhere, and I’ll save my questions for after.”
A Feeler might say
“I’m not upset with you. I just need the wave to pass before we talk.”
Loving each other
If you love a Noticer
- Reassurance helps for a minute. One plain, true sentence helps longer: say it once, then change the subject.
- If they go quiet, they’re probably thinking something through, not upset with you. Ask what’s on their mind, and let them answer at their pace.
If you love a Feeler
- Don’t tell them to calm down. Give them a minute, stay close, and talk once it has passed.
- If they cry or snap, it isn’t a verdict on you, and it won’t last. They’ll want to make it right.
