The Noticer and the Keeper
One of you replays it out loud. One of you replays it in silence.
How a Noticer and a Keeper carry hard things together: where you’re good, where it rubs, and what to say.
Find out which you areAbout a minute of quick taps. Then send it to them.
Where you’re good together
The Noticer sees what the Keeper isn’t saying, and the Keeper’s steadiness gives the Noticer’s mind somewhere to rest.
Where it rubs
The Noticer reads the quiet as something to decode. The Keeper reads the questions as pressure.
What helps
The Keeper says one true sentence early, before the Noticer has built a story around the silence.
A Noticer might say
“You don’t have to tell me everything. Just tell me if it’s about us.”
A Keeper might say
“It’s not about you. I’ll say more when I have the words.”
Loving each other
If you love a Noticer
- Reassurance helps for a minute. One plain, true sentence helps longer: say it once, then change the subject.
- If they go quiet, they’re probably thinking something through, not upset with you. Ask what’s on their mind, and let them answer at their pace.
If you love a Keeper
- "I’m fine" is often a reflex, not an answer. Ask once more, gently, and leave a pause.
- Don’t push for the whole story. Make it easy to say a little, and stay with it when they do.
