Two Keepers
Two people who hold things, holding them next to each other.
How two Keepers carry hard things together: where you’re good, where it rubs, and what to say.
Find out which you areAbout a minute of quick taps. Then send it to them.
Where you’re good together
You’re two of the most trustworthy people there are. Nothing said between you goes anywhere, and you never make each other feel like a burden.
Where it rubs
Nobody goes first, so nothing gets said, and both assume the other is fine.
What helps
A standing question that isn’t ‘how are you’: ‘what are you carrying this week?’ One answers, then the other.
Either of you might say
“What are you carrying this week? You first, then me.”
Or
“I’m not fine, and it’s not about you. I just wanted you to know.”
Loving a Keeper
If you love a Keeper
- "I’m fine" is often a reflex, not an answer. Ask once more, gently, and leave a pause.
- Don’t push for the whole story. Make it easy to say a little, and stay with it when they do.
